LED Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation)

What Is Light Therapy?

LED light therapy, AKA photobiomodulation, uses light pads with embedded LEDs.  These polychromatic LEDs include blue, red and near-infrared diodes. The diodes emit

photons. These photons penetrate to deep tissue levels.  In turn, blood and lymphatic circulation increase.  As well, collagen production and tissue repair improve. New blood capillaries form (angiogenesis) and damaged nerves regenerate (neurogenesis).  Some call this therapy photobiomodulation.

One out of three Americans will deal with chronic pain.  LED light therapy is a useful tool for helping people find relief. Clinical studies show this therapy to reduce pain, inflammation, swelling, and toxicity in the muscles and joints.  In addition, they also show that it induces analgesia and promotes healing in various musculoskeletal conditions.

What should I use it for?

Light therapy gives patients a non-invasive treatment option to reduce pain. Clients seek light therapy for such common conditions as wound healing, back and neck pain, carpal tunnel, shoulder pain, myofascial pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, and rheumatoid arthritis.  Additionally, a myriad of conditions can be dramatically improved with  LED light therapy, like acute injuries, migraines, neuropathy and muscle cramping.

How much does it cost?

Rate:  $50/session         Package of 6 for $210 ($35 ea)     OR      12 for $360 ($30 ea)

(The addition of Bowen Therapy is usually encouraged as an adjunct to LED light therapy for an extra $125)

You can safely receive or apply LED light therapy up to three times a day with at least FOUR hours break in between.  This is not always recommended, depending on the type and severity of your condition(s).  Results from clinical studies show that best results happen with at least two sessions per week. If your schedule and distance from the clinic allows, come in daily for faster resolution.  The effects from each session are more cumulative with frequent sessions.

For clients whose schedules and distance from the clinic don’t allow for at least two sessions per week, there are other options:

  • Rent a unit, providing there is one in stock for rental at the requested time ($350/two weeks)
  • Purchase your own unit for home use for $1,395 plus tax.

A big benefit of renting or purchasing is that you can apply the therapy up to three times a day.  This effects faster results.  With the push of one button, using the unit is super easy.
