Benefits of Vinegar #3

This is my third installment about the benefits of different kinds of vinegar.  This one is on balsamic vinegar.balsamic vinegar

Balsamic vinegar stabilizes cholesterol

Another study, this time published in a 2010 edition of the Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology, found that the polyphenols contained in balsamic vinegar limited the ability of LDL cholesterol (the “bad” kind of cholesterol) to oxidize. Oxidative damage to your cells is something you don’t want. It speeds up the process of aging and sets the scene for disease and illness. Reducing the oxidation rate of LDL cholesterol is definitely a good thing. All hail balsamic vinegar!

Benefits of Vinegar #5

I read this in The Alternative Daily and had never heard this benefit before.  Maybe you have not either.  white wine vinegar

White wine vinegar fights against the formation of tumors

A 2006 study, associated the prevention of tumor formation with white wine vinegar, meaning this pungent liquid may play an important role in fighting cancer. Lab tests showed that white wine vinegar slowed the progress of certain cancerous growths and prevented others from forming in the first place. It was thought that this was due to white wine vinegar’s high polyphenol content. Polyphenols are known to reduce or neutralize free radical damage to cells.

Aspects of Holistic Healing

There are many aspects to healing because there are so many aspects to the human “being.”  We are actually verbs, not nouns.  There is a whole lot that goes on with our “being.”  All levels of our being hold keys to our healing.  Quantum physics says that we are like a column of energy which is vibrating at a very high level.  We’re like a cylindrical container where we receive at the top, then process and release energy at the bottom.  But sometimes those vibrations become way too intense or more than we can handle, and it makes us “wobbly” or off balance, so to speak.  Or our vibrations get interrupted with different life happenings like traumas (auto accidents, falls, sport injuries) or job changes, arguments, divorce, death, etc.

When these events happen, our vibrations diminish in certain areas of the body and we are prone to illness or things that just happen in life that we may think are unrelated. But they are not. Thoughts are “things,” and our thoughts draw life events into our lives in order to validate our thinking.  Sometimes our thoughts draw “things” to us that we would not consciously choose.  So, to accomplish “healing,” we often need to address more than the visible, tangible, or obvious “pain” that presents to us.  We need to dig deeper into a more “holistic” approach.

An expanded holistic perspective will include at least eight aspects of our being:Holistic Approach

  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • Mental
  • Relational
  • Nutritional
  • Energetic
  • Environmental
  • Spiritual

At Living Well Health & Wellness, we have a team of practitioners in our Pain Recovery Clinic who can address each of these aspects.  And we will explore them with you in order to affect healing, so that you can have the vibrant, exciting life you once had.  We do this through:  nutrition, supplementation, aromatherapy, counseling, Bowen therapy, myofascial release, LED light therapy, Bach flower remedies, and more.

For example, if someone is being seen in the bodywork department for peripheral neuropathy and just can’t move forward with their healing, the question may be asked, “What if what you are experiencing is grief held in that part of your body?  And what if it is okay for you to go ahead and live a fulfilling life?” If this resonates with the client, they may then have a visit with our life coach or counselor, maybe even address the issue with essential oils that can affect the amygdala (emotion center of the brain). From there, they may be referred to our nutritionist or health coach so that what they are taking into their bodies will support their healing as well.

There are many ways to approach a healing path because of these many aspects of the human body.  We at Living Well Health & Wellness would love to explore these with you and help guide you along your path to complete healing.  So, get your life back!  Give us a call at 972-930-0260 and make your appointment for a 1-hr. $59 consultation, which cost can then be applied toward future sessions with one of our skilled practitioners.

Benefits of Vinegar #2

Did you see my previous blog about using raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar?  Here is another reason to use vinegar daily, but this tip is using white wine vinegar.white wine vinegar

White wine vinegar regulates blood sugar and appetite

A study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that white wine vinegar, a vinegar used by certain cultures to add unique flavor to their recipes, helped to reduce the glycemic index of food when taken at the same time as meals. The study also found that white wine vinegar may help to regulate blood sugar, provide temporary appetite control, and reduce insulin sensitivity in diabetic people.

Benefits of Vinegar #4

Today’s tip regarding vinegar is on apple cider vinegar (ACV) once again.  Bragg apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar balances your internal pH

The health community is increasingly coming to realize the importance of the body’s pH, and how many of us are actually in a strongly acidic (low pH) state. This increases our risk of infection and drains our energy.

Luckily, our good friend ACV can help with that. While it seems counterintuitive, a teaspoon or two of ACV in your water each day can elevate your pH levels and restore a healthy pH in your body. This simple addition can help to support a robust system capable of fighting off ailments that come your way.

Can 1 Tablespoon of Vinegar Daily REALLY Make A Difference?

I know you’ve all heard of the healing benefits of vinegar, especially raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar (although there are benefits of other kinds as well).  But sometimes we hear something or read about it and acknowledge that it will help but then forget about it.  This is one easy thing to incorporate into your daily lifestyle that will be worth the remembering.Bragg apple cider vinegar

I’m going to write about the benefits of vinegar  in 7 easy to digest (pun intended) snippets.  This is the first tip and it’s about apple cider vinegar (ACV).  By the way, all of these tips come from an online article I found from The Alternative Daily.  To read the entire article, click here.  So, here is the first reason to ingest this vinegar.

  1. Apple cider vinegar (ACV) can help with weight loss

Adding one to two teaspoons of ACV to your morning glass of (room temperature) water can promote healthy weight management. ACV is very alkalizing to the body, and studies have shown that the weight-regulating powers of ACV are most effective over extended periods of time, meaning you need to be doing this every day for at least a few weeks to start seeing real results. And as another plus, at the same time you’re losing weight, you will reduce pain in your body when you alkalize!  Why?  Because you’ll be reducing INFLAMMATION!

Stay tuned for more reasons to use vinegar on a daily basis.  Also, read the book Alkalize or Die for more compelling information on alkalizing your body.
